Hello dear family and other people...
Have decided to finally join in the 21st Century and start blogging. God knows why as I'm useless at letter writing, emailing, phone calling, in fact its a wonder that my family still know I'm alive. Maybe that's why they keep visiting...Anyway thought this might kill lots of birds with few stones and keep in contact with everyone as well as show everyone that I'm still alive. Except haven't quite got to grips with my digital camera...It's a worry when your 'rents overtake you with mastering the art of technology!!
So far I've had a great week off and looking forward to another week off next week. Sadly its done nothing but rain since Mum & Dad got here, that seems to have thrilled them no end and much to Mother's dismay we're rapidly running out of shops to visit! Luckily the sun visited us today so we've all cheered up remarkably.
Hmm what else...have a feeling this blog may not be as exciting as you all may've hoped...Although my life does have its dramatic moments (eat your heart out Eastenders) nothing of note happens on a daily basis. Sadly, as I have no children I'm at a disadvantage with amusing anecdotes. No bum-smacking machines for me!! Unless I invent a male mind-reading machine then that will solve all my problems...so I am no longer left in a permanent state of confusion (which these days isn't hard). Ahhh I can only dream and remain confused...
In the meantime I'm cheering myself up for my 2nd trip to Paris this year. Last time I went was in February and it was freezing cold, I mean I thought England was cold but this was another kind of cold!! This time I was hoping for some much needed heat but I have a horrible feeling my good friend Mr Rain might pay a visit to my parade...hmmm I jolly well hope not! At least this time I can get of climbing all the enormously tall buildings as 'I've done it all before with the photos to prove it'. I'm hoping my dear big sister Nicky doesn't think I've won the lottery and book us in for 4 nights at Le Crillion. For those who aren't in the know, its the most expensive hotel in Paris. I'm guessing the rooms clean themselves and you're hand-fed oysters and caviar 24 hours a day...
Finally bought myself an iPod the other day (see I warned you I was behind the times) for my lovely trips on the train. Fortunately I don't appear to attract the nutters that insist on talking non-stop to you for the entire trip though there's always time...Will proceed to fill it with loads of loud music to drown out the ever-so-helpful train announcements that advise me which carriage I'm travelling in and what my other 100 destinations are before I can get home. The first time is helpful, the other 42 times is just plain irritating. Repeat after me, I love public transport because I'm saving the polar bears. Well I hope the polar bears are ever so grateful!! I should get a car, but with fuel prices the way they are I could probably only afford to drive it up and down the driveway twice a week!
Right enough ranting. Tomorrow will be a new day filled with joy because at some point Mr Sun will come out to play and he will have so much fun that he won't want to go and hide for the rest of summer...at least until the end of the month...Failing that, something exciting (non-Eastendery) will happen to/in my life.
Love to you all
Jemma
